Rear door lock mechanism spring thingy
Hi, after getting my Disco back on the road, i moved onto little jobs that needed doing, one of these is the back door latch thingy. It wouldn't release from the outside latch when trying to open the door, unless someone held the snibber up as the snibber moves up and down when you pull on the latch, resulting in the door acting as if it was locked. I have pulled most of the mechanism out and the little arm that swings over to lift the latch when it is in the unlocked position is what moves, when it is locked it is retracted and slides past the latch therefore not lifting it, when it is unlocked it is pushed in and engages. It runs next to the lever that opens the door and there is friction between them which is pulling the arm back. If you push it into engaged everything works as it should.
Now i pulled the mechanism apart and have found one of those little round toggle springs (10mm diameter approx) that eveidently hold the lever either way, locked or unlocked, this has 1 end broken off it, just wondering how to get the whole thing out to get a new spring and repair it, and if anyone has done the job do you know the part number, as i can't find anything to do with that on rave.
Cheers
Will

FIXED!!!, waited on the parts for a while as they got held up in the post for some reason, the spring wasn't the easiest to get in, involved a small pair of pointy pliers and a few flat head screwdrivers after i tookthe lock out and clamped it in the vice. Works good as new, really happy
