    being able to drag off at the lights is irrelevant, buy a sports car if you wanna do that, its no wonder people have head gasket problems at 200 thou or less if they treat a 300tdi like a race car

    I can see the advantage of an auto commordore - makes it a lot easier to hold the brakes and accelerator on together.

    I dread to think what might happen if you tried that in a Disco!

    Therefore, might as well get a manual, right?

    looks like the manual is the go, sounds like the auto box pushes the engine a bit hard for my taste!
