A bit of advice please. I have a 1994 D1 with low compression 3.9 V8 (serpentine). I have just had both head gaskets replaced but still some water loss. Head was skimmed but report back was that it was a bit 'soft' however mechanic deemed it ok to go back on. I have no problem with that since it proved difficult to source new heads. The driver side head is seemingly leaking out (not into cylinder).

My main question is what is a reasonable time to replace one cylinder head gasket. I accept there will have to be a pause in the middle to decide what to do! but I am looking for some idea of what I should expect to pay.
