Thread: Disco 1 rear windows not working

This is a pretty common fault. Usually it is a dry solder joint in the PCB that controls the windows. The PCB is located in behind the glove box. If you pull glove box out you will see the control panel in a housing. If you are handy with a soldering iron all you need do is re-solder the dry joint and you should be sweet.

Really? Surely everything has been covered at least once or twice.

Solder joint on the ECU board behind the glove box from memory, just like the posts before there is plenty of info and it's a relatively quick fix with a soldering iron.

The first Disco I bought was fine, then I drove it home and on the way home the rear windows weren't working hahaha

Its called a window lift ECU and as above it is situated behind the glovebox, 3 x 6 or 7mm bolts to remove, one of them a bit of a pain in the ass to get at, although IIRC you can remove the plugs from the ecu, and then the board from the casing and leave the casing attached to the car.

Re-solder and get fresh air again or simply slot in a replacement known good unit.
