    For those with flexi flares........

Looking at fitting up some 50mm flexi flares soon for some extra clearance around the tyres. Does anyone have any pics of how much has been cut from the door and inner wheelarch on the rear? Mainly wondering how the door has been resealed to prevent water entering.

    flexi flares

    hi there

fitting flexi flares is always a bit daunting especially the rear ones. i would have some pics somewhere if i can manage to find em ill post em. if you open the rear door and look you will see that you should only have to remove the seal that is fixed to the door which plays no part in sealing out water. if you are fitting them by the instructions and installing them about 50 mm below the line in the panel work then you should only have to remove roughly 25 to 30 mm around the door. no two install are really the same as the flares in my experience are a little rough especially for the money you spend on them. i have installed a fair few of these and the best advice i can give you is make sure you have a friend to help you. you will need to hold em up to the panels about where you think you want em then mark the curve with a marker then cut a little at a time. its best to use a 1mm cutting disk and be light on the grinder and let it do the work.
    hope this helps. jake
