Thread: 300TDI alternator bearings

Hi fellow Landrovians, my alternator bearings are on their last legs so im going to replace them if I can find out the bearing number. Can someone tell me the number please before I strip it. I have rebuilt many alternators before (but not a Disco one) and cant see why I should fork out $350 + for a new one when hopefully all it needs is a pair of bearings.

Edit. I think I have found the bearing # 6203 and BCH06604. Sound right?

Quick update. What a pain to get apart. You have to unsolder 3 wires to disassemble the alt. then its not too bad.

Total price $25.00 and about 3 Hrs. Thats tool all packed up ready for a test drive.
Would be quicker next time as Ive got a better idea of what to expect.
