No need to feel bad about considering towing it, and apologies if I came across a bit blunt on my previous post. Glad you've decided against it.

Just so happened that yesterday I saw a V8 commodore (probably VP/VN vintage) towing a car trailer with some Jap car on it, maybe an old Skyline.
All the weight at the front of the trailer, obviously no trailer brakes, and when the car in front stopped to turn right into a side street he slid with front brakes locked up for about 5m before coming to rest about half a metre from the stopped car.
Admittedly a badly loaded trailer, and complete moron driving - but the idea of a Disco on a trailer behind a Commodore still seemed pretty scary afterwards.
Wednesday is the local car auction day near where I work, so I'm guessing thats where he'd come from as I saw him again a couple of hours later with a different car on the trailer, but still front wheels in the air on the Commodore....

Hopefully Door to Door can look after you at a reasonable price. Let us know how you go.

A few of us had our 110's freighted Cairns-Melbourne in July for $1600 each. You might find its only a couple of hundred to get the D1 picked up and delivered to your door. By the time you hire a trailer, pay for fuel, and frig around for a few hours collecting it it might be cheaper/easier.

    Hi Steve

They wanted $645 to do the job. I think the sale has fallen through anyway. The seller has not returned my email with request for directions to pick it up! Chasing another one now a 98 model with rego that I can drive home! 98 is that still a D1 ? whatever it sounds like a better deal IF I win the ebay auction LOL

Geez - that's a lot dearer than I'd have picked given it only cost us $1600 from Cairns to Melbourne.
Good luck with the one you're currently chasing (yes - '98 is still a D1)
