Go pedal travel
Hi all,
Have been driving my partners 300tdi auto for the past week as my 200 tdi man hasnt had 2nd or 4th gear(@ mechanics now getting fixed
).
My question is: Did the 300tdi auto always have a short amount of travel in the accelerator pedal compared to the 200tdi ? It seems to me to be about half of what the 200tdi is.
If its supposed to be the same amount of travel, how do I go about getting the remaining amount of travel back.
Is it because its an auto or is it the same in a manual as well.
Thanks

To start with, see if there is any slack in the cable (pedal not depressed).
From memory there is a black plastic adjuster that can be turned to remove the slack.
Next, while holding the accelerator pedal all the way down, see if you can move the lever/quadrant on the top of the injector pump any further.
If you can then you're not getting full travel from the pedal. Check that the pedal is actually going all the way down to the stop and not hitting on a floor mat etc.
