Thread: Abs light comes on sometimes

Hi, the ABS light on my D1 comes on often, sometimes it just turns off without me doing anything other times it stays on. It will be on when I start the car and other times it comes on whilst driving. Any ideas?

The light is supposed to come on when you first start the car. It is a built in self check of the system and is supposed to extinguish after the cars reaches around 5km / hour.
If the light does not go out it is indicating a bad input, either from a wheel sensor, or one of those crappy in-line plugs in the harness from a sensor, usually a front wheel. It is also possible that the wheel sensor has worked its way partly out of the holder and needs to be reseated.
