Definitely not that simple, B pillar will need to be removed and the whole side sheet metal from a 2dr welded in then an engineers report .

My 98' V8 is a 3 door and at times I wish it was a 5 door! It's a bit of a pain having to crawl inside the car to access stuff behind the front seats...with a 5 door you can access stuff immediately just by opening the rear side doors.

I can confirm that the later '300' series Disco did come in a 2/3 door configuration. I`ve just brought a red 1995 300Tdi 5-speed, but it was a private import from the UK, and pretty rare... I tell myself that makes its special

My Father has a 300Tdi 3 door. It was one of the very last into the country designated a 96.5 MY.

Can't wait till he longer wants it.... :-)

    Fooogle,

Mate, I dunno if anyone else has picked it up, but you have two threads relating to some pretty full on changes to the body\chassis of your Disco. Both of the ideas so far conflict and would not work together.

I am really not sure what you are trying to achieve, but in my opinion I think you have thought a little too far "out of the box" and might want to look at something a little less ambitious.

I hate to say it, but most of the DIY jobs I have seen so far for ute conversions, etc seem to have been done by guys that are engineers or a similar trade. By the sounds of things, and no offence intended, your not that kind of guy, but hey I could be wrong.

It might be worth doing some searching through this forum and the various other LR based sites to get an idea of what you really want to achieve and what is right for you. Then sure, ask away. But at the moment I think your a little far off from your goals.

Again, I don't mean any offence, just my observation\opinion.

i guess maybe im just on the wrong forum website, if there is a recommendation i would love to here. im a first time land rover owner since a week or so, hence all the basic new info people have enlightened me to about the discovery, which i appreciate but i was after some simple answers by people who have done or know how to go about what im interested in doing. most of the replies havent been as helpful as i would hope, i know my other options but have chosen to go this path which other people have before but as i now know, maybe not on this site! im just after some answers that can help with an out side of the box point of view on what im after, not like the last reply, im not on here to talk about if its a to bigger challenge, thats what im after and most people who mess with cars usually are too.

thanks all for the info but please understand me. in a nut shell im not here to chat, im just after a straight answer. (computers are not my favorite pass time) thanks again for the info. oh and fitter and turner if that gives me a few ticks...
