Thread: transfer case advice needed

the other day i was out on a hard to extreem run and the transfer case developed a louder than normal whine, no different in high range only low so today i drained the oil and there was a fair amount of fillings on the magnet and the oil is only 12 months old.

the question is how bad is it and should i get another TC sooner rather than later and will it be ok for another couple of trips

i know its hard to tell with out hearing or seeing it but any thoughts would be good.

Mine wines a lot when its in low range, so much you would think I had a blower under the hood.

But as soon as its clicked into high range it goes away.

Has been going like this for the last few years.
