I would say that a bit rich

Agreed should be half that $6,000

I just bought a 1993 200tdi manual for $1900 with 400,000k's on it. But did have twin fuel tanks , twin battery , snorkel , bull bar UHF and other toys.

Hope that gives you a bit if a guide

TDI will do it easy, i towed my parents 1200kg van loaded with kids crap and i could sit on 110kph on the hume on flatish sections - long gradual hills killed it though.

What year is it ? , these tight bstards saying 2k are being a bit harsh, its worth more than that in parts.

That's the point now, Disco's are now getting like RRC worth more in bits than they are in one peace.

    Sold!!

Just to let you know the Disco has been sold ( but not to me) for 5.5k - a lot more than was discussed here. I have noticed that prices seem to be firming for good Disco 1s - I went to Brisbane yesterday and saw 11 discos.
Unfortunately, all were not good. The chase goes on...

    400k Disco TDi - a problem??

Slight problem with forums is this is a national forum and I have found that qld is properly the most expensive place to buy a Land Rover.

I got my disco cheap in qld teams but had to pick it up from Sydney.

Just look at eBay and see the prices on eBay for RRC and Disco's in Vic compared to one's in Qld.

Another problem with forums is the mate of a mate of mine stories. You know the ones where I had a mate who bought a RR sport for a case of beer. I would still have seats in the back of my 90 if I had not listened to someone on here who I then found out did not know what they were talking about. Once The car was here and then found out I should have kept them.

If you're seriously after a good 4WD give Qld a big miss, and if you're serious NSW, NT and WA too. There are no beaches that are legal to drive on in Victoria and as far as I know Tas as well (too bloody cold anyway). It always amazes me when I see ads on car sales with photos of the vehicle on the beach or with rod holders on the bull bar.

Why do you think there are so many 4WD's exported from Victoria ?

If you want a decent Disco (or any other 4WD for that matter) watch the Victorian adverts.

As for buy a 'real good' D1 300 Tdi for $2k, what a load of crap. About $4K for a reasonable one and up to $6K for a gem is closer to the mark.

When I was up the Cape I asked more then one inter stater what they were going to do with their 4wd when they got back home after belting the hell out of it up here. They, to a man/woman,said sell it.So it's not just Queensland that just flogs the rubbish off at exorbitant prices.
