    Recently bought a 96 D1

I recently bought a 96 Disco TD 300 manual for $1100.00 Has cost about $600 in parts (Coupling, Master Cylinder, bulbs, some hoses etc) to restore for blue slip. In pretty good original condition. Had 245K km. Hope to have on the road with 12months rego for just under $3k in total cost.

    Cheers,
    Tom

    Hmmm.

I paid a fair bit more than the prices being discussed here.
Having said that the one I'm getting is in very good condition with all the things that are even niggling issues being fixed for me.
Hoodlining, rear door lock, roof repainted, snorkel fitted, timing belt done etc etc

It's in very good nick and mid 300K kms.
Car also has a verifiable service history.
I am very confident I'll get many more kms out of it before it needs any major attention.

As far as kms are concerned they should really never be the determining factor when choosing a car. The major things are has it been serviced properly and when it should, and what is teh actual condition of the car - has it been looked after.

I've seen many relatively low kms cars that are trashed, and a number of very high kms cars in near immaculate condition.

The important thing is... whatever you pay.. if you're happy that's all that matters.

    I'm happy.
It's not broken. It's "Carbon Neutral".

Its not so much the mileage but how it has been maintained for that mileage, i wouldnt buy a car with 400k on it but i know my car that i've owned since 188k wont be money pit as i will have maintained it along the way.
As opposed to buying a high mileage vehicle with questionable history, in 2006 i paid $12990 drive away with 188k on the clock and full meticulous service history .
