Thread: New Disco v8

Just picked up my 97 Disco - in love!! Manual, olive green , with lots of stuff I have told are 'essentials'; bull bar, snorkel, dual batteries etc.

However, as it has been sittiing a while it seems to be spitting a little bit of oil out the exhaust on to my wife's white car .......

Opinions on this please from you learned folk?
(car has been sitting, but starts easily and runs sweetly and smoothly)

I'd be inclined to take it out for a good run on the highway and then see whats coming out of the tail pipe afterwards.
It's been sitting for a while and you need to blow all of the ****e out from the exhaust.
If it turns out that oil is still getting into the exhaust then you'll be looking at valve stem seals, maybe rings, head gasket at worse etc.
Pull the plugs and take a close look at them individually to get an idea of whats happening inside your new cars engine.
