Has anyone tried the Airflow brand which are apparently Australian. Seen their web pictures of a Disco 1 which look not as bulky as the safari and not a bad price at just over $300?? Have been thinking about them as an option when able!

Just FYI I rang ARB to get a price on the Safari snorkel and they wanted $567 ! Ouch,
PLUS fitting ! of $230 ! Ouch !
Even if they charge $115 an hour labour, surely it cant take two hours to do it, for people who do that as their stock in trade... ???
I would give it a bit of time and look on eBay. Plenty of D1's being scrapped on there just look for one with a snorkel.
My Xmas project was to fit a snorkel to my 300tdi D1.
I had been looking for some time and the Safari Snorkel price meant I was looking everywhere else.
Found one on eBay that interested me but then on a visit to TRS I asked about second hand snorkels. Was able to select a Safari setup that included the air box. Paid less than half the new price quoted below!
A mate helped me with the fitting and it took us about 2 hours and I have to say I am more yeah apply with the job we did. Especially after wandering around the TRS yard and looking at the rough as guts jobs that had been exposed after removal of the snorkel.
TRS also marked out the holes etc for me while I had the vehicle in there being attended to.
by the way where do I put the dual battery regulator thing now?
I've had the Airflow on my TDI for a few years. No problems with it at all, I have the square airbox, allows for the second battery and plenty of room for other stuff like battery isolator etc. One small negative is the inside front of the unit doesn't have exactly the same curve as the bodywork by about 5mm - only noticeable from the front - apart from that all good.
I have a template for a non abs safari snorkel which can be borrowed.

I will post anywhere.
As far as I have been able to ascertain....there are ABS, non ABS, and the newer(?) one which supposedly suits both (the latter is the one I have IIRC its the 390 model but don't quote me).
Mine (purchased from a fellow AULRO member) fitted beautifully, requiring just the brake fluid reservoir to be moved slightly.
IMHO the Safari's certainly are the most attractive / cleanest snorkels for the D1.
Well it's a mystery then !
Vlad, We have a snorkle on our non AIRBAG 1995 300TDI wreck--blown motor. If it does not fit our RRC this snorkle is for sale. Will look at it this weekend. 0266897377, NOT Friday night or Saturday.
Tried to send you a PM but it would not work. We are just over an hour from Tweed Heads/Coolongatta--could bring it up to Tweed Heads on week days.
