    Which Disco1 snorkel?

Next month the Defender is on the way out, a Disco1 on the way in.

The only thing it doesn't have and I want to fit is a snorkel.

    What options are there?

Pics of fitted ones would be great.

    What would people recommend?

and what $$$ would I expect to pay for it?

Yes I know this has probably been done to death but I'd prefer not to read through 300 different threads to find the info.
I've heard you Disco owners are a friendly bunch... so consider this a test

    Thank you.
It's not broken. It's "Carbon Neutral".

I can't speak for others but I'm very happy with the Safari Snorkel.

Made in Melbourne and yet I ended up purchasing from LR Series in the UK for 294 pounds delivered to my door... cheaper than anywhere I could find in the land of Oz in mid 2011.

Be sure to bear in mind the position of your filter box and surruonding items such as ABS (if applicable) before you settle on a particular snorkel.

Safari is way, way overpriced, I got my first Disco (round tin air cleaner body) snorkel from a mob that (used to?) advertise in 4WD Action mag, think they were "Goannawhere", big 2 page ads, for half the price of Safari, BTW what sort of air cleaner body does yours have, round tin or square plastic, Regards Frank.
A pic of my setup under the bonnet, same setup as on the 300TDi, if you have a round air filter canister like mine, plumb the air in the end, not in the side like Safari does, good luck.

I just bought Mantec snorkel, it came in the mail today. Looks good int he box need a weekend to install it.
Although installation is more complicated than Safari, I like the way it looks. Basically, (no offense) Safari looks like a third hand and sticking out too much on the fender, way to Mad-max for my mostly a city-disco. I figured that if I do Mantec properly and leave it in black it will blend nicely with the A pillar.

Having said that, I have been also reading a lot about snorkels and some people complained that Safari catches branches of trees when off-roading, but on the other hand Mantec supposedly catches rust after 5 years.

    I paid USD $352.00 at Lucky8 in the U.S.

I've got a template for a non-abs 300tdi/V8 Safari that you can borrow if that helps.

I agree, although I also already have a safari snorkel, it was already attached to the disco when I bought it
