    Tailgate lock malfunctioning

I have an issue with the tailgate lock not working properly. Upon unlocking the Disco the rear lock button pops up and drops again and I cannot open the door without using the key, turning it to the unlock position and then opening the door. I bought a new actuator thinking that was the problem, but it was not. I cannot see anything broken or missing (not that I'm very good with these things anyway) and everything seems to move easily and appear unbroken. Any thoughts? Should I go to a mechanic, lock specialist or someone else?

Give Jason at MR Automotive in Brisbane a call. The one I am buying from him has exactly the same problem which he is fixing - I'm sure he will steer you in the right direction.
It's not broken. It's "Carbon Neutral".

Very common problem and if you get some replacement springs you should be able to fix it yourself. I did. It's pretty fiddly though and if you do have a go at it just take lots of photos along the way of the lock mechanism and how it's put together because you'll have to take some of the bits apart to get to the spring. There's a fair bit of stuff online about replacing these springs though and it's mighty satisfying when you do it yourself and it works again
