    Aux fuel Tanks

Hi yáll. Can anyone enlighten me as to long range tanks for a D1 petrol? Sill tanks,,,,,good bad or ugly? How much do they hold? Are they worth it?
    Cheers.

I went for dual sill tanks because they don't hinder the departure angle at the back and hold much more than a regular extended range tank. Mine are 40lt each side.
I had sender units installed in mine since there's no way of knowing how much is in them. They can be a bit of a pain to fill but I found that an extra length of pipe stuffed down the filler neck and a flexible funnel fixed that problem.
Be sure to use quality transfer pumps in the installation since I had a cheap one fail on me just when I needed the fuel the most!

If you don't do too much bumpy/rocky off roading then the Long Ranger might be okay for you but since I drive lots of sand and rocky tracks I think the sill tanks were the best choice for what I do.

Sills tanks are good because you can switch between them meaning any leakages or damage on one tank you wont be left without fuel, also keeps the weight central and they barely affect ground clearance.
On my previous RRC they held 42ltrs each side so with 70ltrs lpg i had a range of about 800klms.
