I wish, am totally over this rain at the moment also had strong wind warnings here for a month or so, which makes putting a tarp down to work underneath a real hassle, it'll get better but.

Well the front axle's fixed, replaced complete axle, apparently there was 1 prob that caused the rest. Something I didn't check when I bought it was hub oil, I checked both diff oils, transfer & auto box oils & motor oil. The drivers side hub was dry & hub cover was missing which caused the cv to break, passenger side was just okay but replaced that as well.
He reckoned it probably hasn't been done since new, so learnt a lesson on maintenance there & will definitely be keeping this in mind from now on .
Andersons did it straight away, just got it to them at 08.30ish & had it back at 14.30, parts are 2nd hand as that's all we could afford & they looked after us, $400 for everything.

good value, as they are second hand and there's nothing small in there to worry about loosing in the grass (smalls relative here) that cant be retrieved with the pass of a speaker magnet I have another spare short side half shaft and should still be pulling down the other axles. If I do do you want me to earmark you a set so you can DIY next time?

    NEXT TIME???? who me?
Yeah I might actually, it'll be good to start building a spares base & as I will be using it for club trips & w/end playtimes as well as towing our van that sounds like a good idea.
I haven't as yet met anyone who use's their's for what they were built for so a meet up in Ipswich (have some in-laws down there) sometime in the future, although every time I see them I usually don't feel so well the next day LOL
    Muchly appreciated, thanks

    Question

Front sway bar rubbers/poly where the bolts go through, were can I go to get them or do I have to use Landrover ones??
    Anybody know?
Whilst I was underneath changing engine & transfer case oils I noticed they're non-existent, just gaps either side of the main sway-bar.
Just want to fix this before I take it for play, haven't been able to as yet as trying to fix as many probs as I can before hand.
Got to compare it against my old ones - GQ, Ford Explorers (3), Pajero's (2) & an old FJ55 Landcruiser.

I know they aren't near Hervey Bay but the two places I go to for my Disco bits are here and here. They both do reasonable overnight courier prices in the unlikely event that they don't have your bushings in stock.

    Unhappy

Well had the front short axle replaced 2 weeks ago due to no oil in hub & have been seeing oil patches on driveway just behind/inside drivers wheel. I suppose this means seal is gone, when it dry's out (again) I'll check hub out. I would have thought that if seal was gone the mechanic would have said something
