    Wouldn't this just test the front drive line as the handbrake is holding the rear from moving. Probably best to have someone in the car with there foot on the brake to test both ends wouldn't it.

    With my broken short-side axle you couldn't turn front drive-shaft, 1 wheel/axle still unbroken. I would suggest jacking up whole front end then turn each wheel to see if other spins also front drive-shaft. Oh in neutral of course with rear wheels chocked either side of wheels, just to be safe.

    if you had the back wheels spinning+ sliding and planted the boot with the CDL disengaged the front wheels with traction would have had no torque applied to them as it was all going out the back end and not pulling it through the corner like you were expecting it to.

    Empty discos with low fuel are nose heavy.
