    D1 binnacle switches

On my D1 I have 4 switches (push buttons) - the upper 2 on each side.
This leaves 4 (2 lower ones on each side) vacant.

As mine is a base model, i'm wondering what - if anything - these were used for.

A picture of the switches I mean, but this is from a D2 I think. Wondering what those bottom switches are for - maybe cruise and ??

More importantly - is it possible to get additional switches to put in place of the current "fake / blanking plates"?
To me this is an ideal spot to put the spotlight switches - the existing spottie switch in my dash is a horrible large aftermarket home done monstrosity.
It's not broken. It's "Carbon Neutral".

my d1 isn't a base model and 2 of those switches (1 on each side) have a fog light picture on them, the switch on the right side under the rear wiper button is actually hooked up to my spotties which i think is very neat and handy, the other "fog light" switch on the left side doesnt seem to do anything but i do have a reverse light that im thinking of wiring up to that switch, i would think you could get ahold of some switches from a wreck and press them in there, but i could be very wrong, not sure if any of that was a help at all other than some hope? lol

I bought a switch from the wreckers, replaced a fake one, and used it to hook in my spotties with the high beam.

They are multifunction buttons for the radio controls on ES spec.
    Volume up and down
CD change / track up and down
Long press or press each side of the switch for either function, not sure as they always do something different to what you expect!

The fog light button is for the rear fog lights.
Front fog light switch is down beneath the clock next to cruise control and I think heated windscreen if you have the cold climate pack. My aftermarket driving light switch is mounted here, will swap it for a factory one eventually.

Can take some pics if you like.
    Cheers

I've got extra lights on one of those blank switches, just used any old one and put a label on it, not exactly factory but much neater than those aftermarket switches,

you can just add more switches into the blanked off ones as you want to.

Got a load of extra switches from the previous owner, if you ever get out this way you can have a couple if you need them
