Congratulations your car must be the Brock Signature Edition and that thing therefore must be a Mass Polariser.
Do not under any circumstances remove it ( or even talk about it), or the car will develop oil leaks. Oops too late.

Something half oval with a handle. Get rid of it before someone notices.
A spare engine or gearbox mount.
Steering vibration dampner. Mine fell off, big thud as it hit something on the way out the back. Didn't really notice much difference until I fitted it back again, but a descent steering dampner would render it useless I would think??
Don't feel bad, disco 2s have one on a bracket off the rear diff.
