    Injector securing nut

Like a champion duffus I over tightened the nut and broke off the stud (of course just below the thread).

Is that stud one with the head or can I just squeeze it out and replace?

Is it possible to weld it?

98% of all Land Rovers built are still on the road.
The other 2% made it home.

Cost difference between Britpart and Genuine seals: £2.04. Knowing that your brakes won't fail at any moment: Priceless.

I did the same thing, had a panic attack and thought the worst, rushed out and bought a set of easy-outs. I started to Dremel the top of the stud flat in preparation to drill a pilot hole when I noticed the thing spinning. It was then I found out that I could undo the broken stud with my fingers The worst part was the ridiculous prices that the local suppliers wanted for a replacement.. $32.00 ea was one price.. ended up ording one in from O/S for about $5 delivered - good if you can wait. Hope you have the same luck.

These are kind of stretchy studs, designed as a failsafe to not strip the thread out of the head. I made my own replacement studs from 50mm M8 bolts. Cut the heads off and finish the cut. Insert the new stud as normal, be careful not to overtighten the nut - 25nm. Others would say not to do this, but I have had no issues with them (100K kms plus), and the injector holding plates fit over them just fine.
