Fuel pressure regulator can fail and leak fuel into the manifold, remove its vacuum hose and look for liquid fuel.
Land Rover Discovery 3.9i 96
After start I feel the rpm go up and down, but don't see it on the tachometer, so on gear.
After the vehicle starts to warm up, the tachometer go up and down several times, till the point that it stall, when idle or in gear.
The warmer the car, the faster he stall.
Smell and feel as if the mixture is too rich.
The following have been made (none of them improved the situation):
Replaced (new) - fuel filter, stepper motor, O2 sensors, Injectors (mod),
Coil and module (mod (BEE)), Spark plugs and wires,
Alternator
Crossed - fuel pump, AFM, TPS, fuel temperature sensor, Distributer, ecu.
Adjust - AFM (1.8), TPS (0.3)
Checked - All vacuum hose.
Cleaned - AFM, throttle housing, oil filter separator, stepper motor.
I probable have forgotten some things, but by throwing your ideas, I'll remember. I have some ideas for the next steps (ideas much more radical) but let's hear you first!
Fuel pressure regulator can fail and leak fuel into the manifold, remove its vacuum hose and look for liquid fuel.
Check the coolant temp sensor, as it can cause your symptoms
bee utey- i have checked it, disassemble and assemble, and its O.K.
OlliesLRover - Checked the coolant temp sensor it work O.K. found the plug and it was a bit broken on the outside, replace it, but it work fine.
How did you check it, mine was fluctuating between 40 & 90deg and supplying fuel when it shouldn't and none when it should.
i have ecumate and see the reading of the temp. is O.K.
i have a temp sensor that i fitted on the head with in car reading and i cross the info to see that it O.K.
is it correct or its better to read the resistance or voltage on the sensor?
what should be the parameters?
Sorry mate I can't answer you questions as I ended up getting the LR experts to fix it.
But from what I can see from your list you have obviously spent a few dollars getting to where you are now, so why not just plonk a new one in and try it seeing as they only cost around $30 new, plus it will be another thing you can cross off the list.
