Hi,
I was lookoing around for the Temp sensor tonight, I thoughtvit was always on the thermostat housing, but its not, the attached picture shows the 2 sensors, the one with 2 wired coming out is on the thermo housing and when disconected does not effect the temp guage, the one below the pipe, green wire is the temp sensor as when disconected the guage goes down, question is what is the one on the thermo housing for

Ahhh that makes Sense thanks Bee..
How often do temp sensors fail if at all, I can understand a guage failing but could the sensor, im going to add a vdo temp guage and was wondering if I should replce the sensor at the same time
Sensor would be more likely to fail than the gauge.
I have no idea how long sensors last, but I have a 40 y.o. P76 with an original VDO sensor and gauge in good working condition.
But if you're fitting a replacement gauge make sure your sensor is directly compatible, or a new matching one which probably doesn't cost lots.
The guage comes with one whether its gonna fit or not is another story 1/8 NPT, guess ill see when it arrives, thanks again..
