    TD5

    This question May have have been asked before . What is the *TD5 model Land Rover like? I have aDisco 1 TDI wagon but I am looking at buying a 130 Ute whether it is aTDI or TD5. Can anyone tell me. Thanks.

    Depends on the year model. 1999-2005 I think would be Td5.
    Smoother and more powerful than the Tdi, simple engine to work on, more electrics though.

    I dont know much about other Land Rover motors but the TD5 took a while to grow on me. Even though I still cant get everything right (radiator hoses leaking) now I love it. Good power with good economy. Easy enough to do the usual repair work except changing the oil filter (thats a bitch). Parts are pretty cheap. Generally just a good thing.

    I'd agree, but if it was too easy to work on it wouldn't be a Land Rover now would it?

    Well who designed the head lights. I have never seen such an easy way to remove them.

    Try a Bosch oil filter...is arround 1cm shorter, so it makes the task very easy

    Honestly, I really can't be bothered.
    I've got small hands, if I burn myself on the turbo dump pipe it's my own stupid fault for not letting the engine cool down enough

    I doff my hat to those who can easily change the non bosch oil filter and not want to kill something after about 10 mins.Having a 3" dump pipe doesnt help either.
