wheel alignment
Please can some one tell me what is the correct wheel alignment on a 97 discovery with a 2 inch lift toe in or toe out? I can't find anyone in Perth who believes its toe out? Is it hard to do yourself? Cheers

It is easy to set the toe out yourself. Jack up the front wheels and put the front axle on axle stands. Make a mark on both front tyres about in the middle of the tread. set the marks level with the centre of the hub the measure the distance between them. rotate the wheels half a turn setting the marks about level with the underside of the chassis allowing clearance to get the measuring tape through to the other side. measure the distant between the marks and compare with the front measurement if the distance at the back is less than the front the wheels are towed out if the measurement at the back is greater than the front the wheels are towed in. Slacken the clamps on the track rod and adjust the toe setting until the measurement with the mark at the rear is 2mm smaller than the measurement at the front (you will have to keep rotating the wheels half a turn backwards and forwards to take the measurements. TIGHTEN UP THE CLAMPS ON THE TRACK ROD AS SOON AS ADJUSTMET IS COMPLETED!
I have 2 pieces of aluminium angle, with marks corresponding to the outside of the tyres, that I clamp to the faces of the hubs (bottom of the hub wheels removed) I set the alloy up level each side and then measure the distance apart at each end and adjust the toe setting until I have 2mm toe out. TIGHTEN UP THE CLAMPS ON THE TRACK ROD AS SOON AS ADJUSTMET IS COMPLETED!
