You get what you pay for.
Also you get cheaper HP from a 2jz.

If I had of kept any of my old HR's, they'd be sporting one of these buy now JC.:)
7mGTE goes good to :) when new head bolts and gaskets are in.
Got one home to be either HR or XC Fairmont
Cheap compared to a 2jz
funny that coz my disco 1 and R31 skyline sleep next to each other in the garage
What about a 1UZ 4.0 V8? 190kW and a flat torque delivery. Also a much shorter motor and you can go single or twin turbo if you get the urge?
Use either the Lexus front cut for the ECU and harness or just buy a Megasquirt ECU.
I thought about the 1uz but more interested in the rb30det due to the ease of power increase with the right size turbo and the right tune.
I'm guessing no one has done this conversion then?
Has anyone done rd28 engine conversion then?
Common conversion in South Africa. Bell housing converter and clutch available from these guys:

AFAIK, all the RD28 engines were built as "turbo ready": coated pistons and oil sprayers. So adding a custom tubular exhaust manifold with your Garrett NVT of choice and an IC might be an option............
I owned a RD28 auto r31 EX taxi and converted a pintara wagon to RD28 manual.[also a CD20].
fuel economy for the pintara was 13Km/l even towing a car on a trailer.
top speed for non turbo was 145km tops.I got a dead turbo engine from a GU--for next time I get around2it.
the early engine isn't turbo ready-but it would be OK in a car. that's why I bought a cracked head engine.Disco around car and half.japanese engines tend to be different specs in different parts of japan.exported RD28 like laurel in Europe will be turbo ready.
LD28/RD28 are very common in Europe.a few years ago people started to use these kits to fit RB and SR engines.
a SR20ET fitted to a skyline with tuning package is a common idea in japan--goes great but the fuel use.
the web site for the adaptor plate show LD28..
Australian companies make RB/RD to holden-chev-and various manual gear boxes.
RD are about the same size but lay over on opposite angle.lean toward the passenger side.starter is at 10.30 but is similar in teeth/dia.
the top bolts and dowl is at different height.2 lower bolts are the same.
