V8 or TDI?
Has anybody had this happen, rego time yesterday pretty warm drove to shop pulled up shut her down, fans came on for prob 1 min. Then would not crank for half hour then started, running fine . This is the second time ??? Any ideas
V8 or TDI?
Yes V8
Don't know anything about the V8's sorry. Temp gauge move at all? Have you done much driving since it happened again?
Fan would only come on if you were using the aircon and noting your location i doubt you would even use it. Sounds like it did get hot so could be fuel vaporization (unlikely) or an electrical issue ie ignition module.

Rave says fan comes on if fuel temp hits 70 or water 110 with ignition off for 10 mins. And it was about 35deg that day so aircons do get a work out here. HT off coil was sparking but module would stop it from cranking? LR shop said maybe heat saturation ?? He said fords use to do it
Yeah Judo been about 12 months since last time heading up in to barrington tops but gauge sits about half way.
The fans also come on if engine temp exceeds 102c and off at about 96.
The switch is on the thermostat housing.
In my '92 rrc they only ever came o n once climbing My Pinnibar on a 35 c day.
it may be a sign of a blocking radiator or dying viscous fan.
don't let your v8 get over 100c very often or it will hurt your wallet.
