CV noise
Recently replaced the leaking front hub seals on my '93 D1 that I am slowly fixing for rego. Converted it to oiled wheel bearing while I was at it, no axle seals, so all one cavity. CV's looked good after cleaning and 1 most likely has been replaced at some stage as it appeared to be an aftermarket CV. They were only oiled prior to assembly, no grease.
It has now developed what sounds like a clicking CV, was all good before hand tho. Diff was filled with oil to level plug, then an extra 1/2-3/4L through the hub fill plug. Was no noise when 1st done and car wouldn't have done more than 3km since reassembled. I also ran it up on a car ramp, one side at a time to make sure there was oil in the hubs. Appears to only be the RHS that is making a noise.
Am I missing something with what I have done, or is it just bad luck?
Cheers
Rick
