You need a tailshaft from a Range rover that has a uni-joint instead of the rubber do-nut, also need the diff flange that the uni./Tailshaft bolts to, should be able to get from a wrecker or someone here in the Markets section, Regards Frank.
Want to remove rubber coupling from my Disco 300tdi auto so I can raise the vehicle without worry of coupling failing more often.
Came across this on fleabay
Tailshaft Commodore VX VY V6 Sedan Auto | eBay
Will it fit? My rear tailshaft doesn't seem look anything like that or in my ignorance am I missing the bleeding obvious?
Thanks
Pete

Why on earth would you even look at that tailshaft ?
The couplings dont fail that often, i have a 3" lift and i only just replaced my first one in 7 years and it took ages for it get to the point where it was undrivable - just carry a spare .

My fault I should have been more specific. I am aware a RR shaft fits very easily, in fact I have one ready to fit along with the diff fittings etc. I was pointing out here's a bloke touting that the commodore shaft he is selling will fit a 98 Discovery, I don't think it will but was not absolutely sure hence the question. If it doesn't fit, in my mind he should not be selling it as such and I will inform him that it is not suitable.
The rubber coupling from some commodores is close enough to be interchangeable. But the shaft is ludicrous.
That's what she said. Will this REALLY fit?
Sorry but someone had to say it.
