plug in engine code reader scanner
hi all still haven't worked out the fuel issue in my other post (40L per 100KMS) tried everything
Just wondering if anyone in the Blacktown Penrith area (Sydney Australia) has a engine code reader scanner that I could pay them to plug it into my 1997 v8 disco and see if I get any fault codes that might help me with my fuel issues. I'm really stumped with this problem and its the only thing that is making me hate the car. I spoke to a land rover mechanic today and he wanted me to pay $180per hour, money I don't have. Anyhelp would be appreciated.
cheers john a

Hi John, I found my problem (the same 35L/100km) not to mention the $1.65L for std 95 up here OUTBLOODYRAGEOUS! however it seems to be a culmination of several problems. First was timing (this played a huge part in fuel usage) plugs and air filter followed by vacuum hoses and stepper motor the big one now is unblocking the fuel return line (need more advice on this) and I should be back to 20-25 per 100. The school run and groceries don't help economy either. Next is a 3' s/steel exhaust I've got sitting in the driveway. Just check your exhaust pipe for colour, mines still running super rich and it's hopefully a result from fuel return aswell...

thanks for your help ive just ordered a new MAF air flow metre and a ecu water temp sensor. Ill be pulling the car apart in a bout 3 weeks (manifold plenum etc) so I will clean them all up new gaskets all round so I think ill go from there. Ill also check everything that you've mentioned.
