    New stepper doesn't fit

The old intermittent bad idle nightmare raises its head again. So I thought new stepper, whether needed or not (and I think it is), can't hurt. eBay, UK, listed for D1 v8, same number as as previous members have sussed as Delco 73312A, looks identical ... plug won't fit. The stepper has keys to ensure the plug only goes in one way, and a catch to ensure the plug doesn't fall out. But they're not in the same position as the OEM so either the pin keys line up or the catch lines up but not both. Stepper doesn't work if I line up the pins, and cant get the plug in if I line up the catch. Have I just missed that this is an issue and I have to file the keys out or something?

This is probably the same bloke that I had a long fight with, and had to send photos of the old and new showing that the tag was in the wrong place.

He just wouldn't accept that he was wrong and I think I had to take it to Paypal even when I sent the photos!.

Apparently there is another stepper for a Freelander V6 and that is what he supplied. AFAIK he had in the description Stepper for Rover V8 and V6.

I eventually got a refund but had to pay airmail back to UK.

    I was pretty ****ed off.
    Regards Philip A

Thanks Philip. Now that I look at the ebay site again, the keys and tag are marked so it's my fault in part, even though its advertised for a V8. And with two lots of postage to return then replace, I'll probably just start again or buy one locally.

I could change the plug but I think I saw a post somewhere that said this wrong stepper actually extends further than the right one. So I've ordered the same as Andy B's from local Supercheap at $79. Anyone need a brand new IAC for a Freelander?
Meanwhile the eBay mob reckon they've sold hundreds to Australians for Range Rover V8's so its all my fault. But I still think their advertising is misleading.
