V8 EXHAUST MANIFOLD LOCK TABS???
What an epic task, anyone know an easy way to get these tabs bent back? I must remove the drivers side exhaust, there's no other option. Top ones were so easy and then...OMG! I got one bottom one cleared I think. I searched forum threads but to no avail. Do I really need to put them back in should I ever get these bloody things out the way.
I've spent most of my arvo with a stubby screwdriver and SWMBO's craft hammer. Now I will just drink and hope for some AULRO salvation...TIA

The folded section is not quite as long as the head so I usually just use a socket and gently tap it on which pushed the tab back. These need to be replaced each use anyway as the heat makes them brittle and usually a few break off anyway.

I found combination of beer, air hammer, screw drivers, pliers, hammers and foul language works well. The drivers side is significantly harder than the passenger side.

Tell you what. I'll do your lock tabs if you change my D2's leads.
