Remove the drive shaft. Lock the centre diff and you can drive on the front diff alone until you get it fixed.
Hi guys, I seem to have broken the rubber thing at the back of my rear shaft on my Disco...Is it possible to remove the shaft and drive it to get a replacement tomorrow?..I can't remember if I have done it before.
Cheers
Dean

Formerly: 2003 D2a Update TD5 Auto. Platinum edition. ARB Bar, 36" LED light bar, cargo barrier, dual batteries.
Remove rear shaft, engage centre difflock and away you go in front wheel drive.

It's normally a regular failure point on lifted cars.
Even if yours is not lifted, it may be a good time to convert the diff to a regular 4 bolt flange & fit a RR Classic or D1 tailshaft.

Thank you everyone, did the trick just fine...scored a new roto thing from FWD and will fit this evening. ps the car isnt lifted, I will explore the rr classic option for next time....Cheers

Take some pics or mark which way the bolts go. it can get a little confusing when its all apart...it did for me anyway![]()
u may also need to change the spigot bush as well. Alot of doughnuts are sold with the spigot bush so u can change it at the same time,

Only use the genuine GKN couplings, there are some elcheapo couplings being offered around $25 ones. Or you be replacing then early
