2 loose wires at transfer case after engine swap

    Hello all

I just went get 1997 Disco 2 v8 3.9 auto back from a mechanic who swapped the engine and auto transmission for me. He also sent my transfer box away and had it rebuilt. I was under the car this afternoon and I notice there are 2 loose wires along the side of the transfer case.

There is a black plug pushed onto , what looks like, a switch near the drivers side rear of the transfer case. These two loose wires are hanging just in front of that black plug. They have female spade connectors on them.

I have not driven the car yet so I have no idea what might not be working a a result of these two wires. I have never noticed any loose wires in the past when changing auto fluid.

Does anyone have an idea what these 2 wires might be for or where they might go?

    Regards

    Richard

There are 2 wires for the transfer case temp sender which isn't there on most vehicles. It is probably them if you find your difflock lamp does illuminate.
