I think the fellow who listed that valve on ebay did not know what he was selling.

Could it be a TPS sensor for EGR system?

It is indeed a security module for the fuel shutoff.

I was able to "disconnect" it

underneath is a one wire fuel shutoff solenoid, wired it up with no issues.

the other gizmo is a TPS sensor for the egr. Mine has been deleted, so no need for the sensor.

All is wired up and appears to be working just fine, with the exception of the GP timer relay dash light output. I am not getting any signal out of the yellow/black wire , but the relay works just as its supposed to. Is this a common issue with these relays?

Im in the market for a new intercooler, as the unit i was sent is junk.

Ive found several oem replacement styles, is it worth the money to buy a fancy one that fits in the same small hole over the stock unit?

I know there are large units that fit in place of the AC condenser, but I plan to keep AC.

    Ive been eyeing this gem:

AlliSport LandRover Defender 300 Tdi Uprated Intercooler

    Any thoughts?

they do appear to be of good quality, i suppose my curiosity is if there is a noticeable difference between the performance it delivers vs the oem unit.

Has anyone got a diagram of the AC system as fitted to the disco tdi?

I am tracking down part numbers for the original parts.

    So far I have:

    Belt- ERR2215
    mounting bracket- ERR4975....or HRC2661?
    Tensioner arm- ERR7386
    tensioner pulley- ERR7296...or ERR7295
    tensioner cover- ERR3807

having never seen one of these trucks, I am having a hard time with the online info. lots of contradiction with the parts.

You need a copy of the RAVE manual.

I actually have a copy of the rave. not very helpful sofar. Maybe I have a lite version, but there are no part diagrams or pinout information in mine.

Im running into another issue. does the auto version of the LT230 have an electronic lockout? I cannot seem to get my case out of neutral. I noticed there is an electronic unit on top of the outputs on the auto case, the manual case does not have this.

The rangies had a transfer case lockout solenoid on them from at least 1993. Won't shift unless the gearlever is in park/neutral for automatic. Not sure how the manuals get on. Brake pedal interlock maybe?
Either way, find it and recycle it.

fair enough dougal, thanks. I thought it strange that my manual us parts truck doesn't have that bit on the case.

in other news, LRdirect.com is indeed the best way to buy parts that Ive found. man those guys have everything, and I can order stuff from them and air mail it cheaper than buying in the states for the same part.
