    Front doors filling with water!

I have a 93 two door disco and it seems that every time I get in it after a couple of days water pours out of the drain in the bottom of the door.
My theory is that the water is running down the glass during rain and pooling in the bottom of the doors.
Has any one else had this problem and how do you fix it? It the seal that buts up to the glass replaceable?

    Cheers

    Dan

Thats normal, if it wasnt draining then you'd have a problem with blocked drains, since it is - dont worry about it.

    Oh ok,
My only concern is the electrics for central locking/electric windows etc and also the possibility of rust and corrosion.
Is it fixable or just something I'll need to live with?

    Cool Not an issue!

Don't be concerned about electrics inside those doors, they are reasonably well protected from the water dripping down from the outside weather strips and they are a lot higher in the doors than you may realise, the water will overboard into the inside of the car and down the inside lower ledge before even touching the winder and central locking mechanisms.
Mine has been through water crossings with water pouring in through busted weather seals etc and lapping up to our bums, soaking the seats, the windows will still open under water because of the low voltage system (12V).
As others have said, the fact that the doors drain is a BIG plus.

Sorry to hijack this a bit, but mine does something similar. It seems that water just sits in the door until I open it. Then it starts draining from the hole at the bottom of the door about middle lengthwise. AND USUALLY ON MY FOOT!!!! Is this the factory drain that you are talking about?

    Thanx!!!

There are multiple drains down the bottom of the door.

They block over time and it retains the water as you have observed.

In normal operation the water will flow through the door and out the bottom freely.

"Hit the deck" and look up, theres 3 (from memory) drain holes.. Clean the other 2 and squirt a bit of Lanolin or Fish oil in there for good measure.
