I hear you AM if you can't fix it with a hammer it is an electrical problem. Did they ever bring the 4bd2t to Aus. It was made up till 98 and is a little more emission compliant. I think the 4.7 may be a bit big for the disco. Great for the defender!

    Cheers,
    Brian

It is a bit difficult to get a pic of the engine casting numbers with the turbo in that location on mine . The ADR plate on the rocker cover clearly states the engine is designed to comply with ADR30 on 5/95. It was a new truck engine when I bought it.

I am thinking of buying a good V8 Disco (preferably with dual airbags) and fitting a 4bd1 as a 'fuel saving improvement' Would I be stupid in thinking that my dreams may be possible with all that extra weight over the front axle with the airbag system for engineering? If this has already been covered here please just tell me to shut up and try again with the search button or preferably let me know what thread it is.

Any comments or guidance would be magic guys.

    Brian.

4BD1T's were fitted to Isuzu NPR's until around 1994 in different parts of the world.

In Australia in 1993 according to the Isuzu Historical archive: http://www.aulro.com/afvb/isuzu-land...l-archive.html
It was replaced with the 4HF1 after that.
