    Trimming the guards

Just wondering if there was anyone out there that performs this operation and if so how much $$. I've had a quote from a couple of businesses but think there asking a bit much so maybe there's someone out there that might do this from home? I'm yet to purchase a set of flares but will be shortly

If you only want a camel cut trim then its only a 10 min job at home, even fitting flares is a diy job.
I did mine over 2 days so i could fill the gaps in the rear doors properly and paint the cut metal.
I honestly wouldnt pay some one to do it.

What did you use to cut the guards?
Did you fold the lip over or leave the sharp edge?

The price of a dremel is only about $150 and can cut your gaurds and do a million other handy jobs so quite cheap to do yourself

Hi Neale, i used and angle grinder with 2mm disc. The edges are covered by the flares so there is no need to fold the edges over.

I wouldnt use a dremel, it will take to long and you'll chew thru the discs.

Just use a Jigsaw with a metal cutting Blade.
Like cutting through butter + i'ts all over in 10 minutes - clean as even without the extensions.

I wouldn't recommend trying to fold the edge over. You will crack the paint and it will chip away further out onto the panel. Don't ask how I know that. A straight cut edge will look better for this reason.

P.S. If you want a really cheap option, you can use tin snips. If you are putting flares over the edges anyway, tin snips will definitely do the trick.

I wouldnt, the alloy is actually thicker than you think and you will have trouble cutting curves.

I did my camel cut with tin snips. Only a short cut of course. All the way around might be more tricky.
