Battery keeps cranking flat, flooding etc
Hi Guys
My 91 Disco 3.5 doesn't seem to like starting when the weather is cold or the engine is cold :-(
Basically it just winds over and almost fires but not quite. It isn't an issue with the battery because unless it is really cold the battery will keep winding it over for 10 - 15 minutes if I ask it to.
If I touch the accelerator the thing just floods and won't start.
I am hopeful that it will be something that people know about, It had a new fuel pump put on and that has not helped solve the issue
Any ideas where to start looking, cleaning, maintaining, replacing in order to make it happy again
Thanks
Chris

Modify the way you start the car.
Basically .... Turn the key to the ON position for 2 seconds,
Now just wind the motor over for 1/4 a second only. .... Stop, wait a 1 second ... then wind motor over for 1/4 second. ...... Repeat the cycle
Should fire up smartly.
Cheers
Mike
