    200 TDI Head

    HI, was is the maximum head skim recommended. Head has slight pitting on on water gallery betweem 3 and 4.

    Land Rover recommend that if the head needs skimming it should be renewed, have you run a straight edge to check if the head is flat, usually warp between 2 and 3 cyls.
    If head is flat and the pitting does not extend outside of the head gasket line you should be right, if the pitting extends past the sealing ring of the gasket you may need to have the head repaired at a reputable head repairer, Regards Frank.

    Thanks Frank, pitting is inside gasket seal, doing a full rebuild on the engine thus want to do a good job...Will check out repair option, head is not warped, checked it out cheers Dave
