Have mine bolted to back of the head just in front of fire wall. Don't think it make any difference where it is located on the head as alloy conducts heat fairly well. Up here in Townsville it usually sits around 88 to 90 in the summer and high 70s to 88 ish in winter. My alarm is set at 95 and have only had it go off once when lugging through a river bed sand on a hot day with hard tyres. Just droped the pressure as I should of I start with and good to go again.

Can anyone offer any advice? Where is the best location to install it and how did they find it in relation to coolant sensor readings?

    Thanks!
Check out MrBeamerdave you tube. Great thread on fitting a watchdog, plus thermoguard both Oz made

Thanx all for the info. Got exactly what I was after. My sensor is cylindrical as well. I'll be slappin' some heat compound on it before wrapping it in copper.

    Thanx again
