    Disco 1 diff drama

Help please. Just locked up a rear diff. What is my best action to take to drive home on the front wheels? Thinking axles and diff centre out. Clean up the seizure. Put it back together minus the rear tailshaft and drive home. Any suggestions?????

Remove the rear tailshaft and rear axles.
Lock the center diff and drive sedately on the front.

That is a great idea except without rear axles I have no hubs to bolt my rear wheels to. Perhaps you should have put a smily face behind the drive sedately bit

The gears in the centre have clashed to lock it I reckon

The hub is Fully Floating, removing the axles will not make your wheels fall off.

    Angry

Bugger! After removing the rear tailshaft and further investigation it would appear that it was the transfer case that locked up. Got home on a tow truck and will perform a full autopsy tmoz.
