Hi, I have removed the front wheel bearings off my 1994 Discovery 3.9 v8
I am still confused as to wether they are oil fed or greased. I know my swivel hubs have oil in them since one is leaking.
I want to put new seals in the swivel hubs and all new wheel bearings.
Should I put in the seals that feed oil or ones that seal for grease? And what about when I do the rear wheel bearings? Its confusing me. Thanks.

the swivel hubs are oil but can be refilled with one shot grease
Just a note on swivel seals. The only brand I trust is corteco. Other brands fail quickly

I am just in the process of replacing all seals, bearings and the CV Joints in my '97 Tdi Disco, what I found was the cost of the swivel bearings, (top and bottom taper roller bearings), can vary a lot, one Landie shop wanted $60 each, yes, $60............they are such small bearings?
I chased through on line suppliers and found them for prices ranging from about $30 each down, so the moral of the story do your homework and save some coin. I finally got them, all four, enough to do both sides of the front axle for $60, $15 each.
My Disco had grease lubed CV's and swivels but unfortunately the RH hub seal garter spring had rusted, (probably the original), and let water into that swivel which led to rusted CV and swivel bearings, the top bearing had collapsed. The LH side seems still ok but doing both sides, as with 300,000 Klm on it it would no doubt be due for replacement.
I would not consider conversion to oil lubed as when I had a Rangie Classic years ago, I got sick of having oil leaks from the front axle swivels. Gaz![]()
