    An August 1994?
The only Disco built then to have a remote is the ES model & it had the single button remote:

    Is this what you have?

If so, the procedure isn't in the owner's manual but should be in the workshop manual.

August 94 is a pretty earlier update. Anyone know the actual month they start making them. ??

An August build date could mean a MY96 so maybe was then fitted. Certainly my 95MY, of the first update batch sold new in early May 94, had a build date of Jan 94 and did not have any security system at all. Doors locked and opened by key - I soon put in an aftermarket system that allowed remote locking/unlocking and immobilising - maybe this is what the OP has if a 95MY vehicle.

    I really doubt August 1994 would be a 1996MY.

The only 'update' model that had a remote was the top of the range ES & it had the single button remote as pictured above.
2 button remotes were introduced with the 1996MY.

I would normally agree but the updates started being built in Dec 93 maybe Nov 93 and these were 95MY. The interim updates (3.9 V belts/LT77) were all 94MY and all 3.5s were 93MY or earlier.

So is possible, though I agree unlikely, that an Aug 94 build (most likely complianced and sold Dec94/Jan95) could have been a MY96 but I am guessing.

It was a time when LR was constantly changing specs of Discos - almost on a whim.

    Cheers
