I've most of my life in NSW been against all the red tape of roadworthies, but for the last 13 years now living up North I have seen some atrocious vehicles that, if we had annual roadworthies would have been put off the road and sent to the scrappers or properly fixed up to a safe condition.
Such vehicles exist and thrive here in Queensland because the chances of being caught by the "roadies" and authorities is pretty slim.
The Disco can be a fun vehicle to play in the water and mud with but they also require maintenance.....and not just under the bonnet. Gaz

No different here now days and now with no rego labels I have to do a online rego check on every car that comes in the workshop and surprise surprise lots of un rego cars

What made you think that if 1 wheel bearing collapses (looks to be from lack of maintenance) the other opposite wheel bearing wouldn't be in the same condition.
A little bit of commonsense should have told you to replace both sides at the same time and at least check the other end as well, Regards Frank.
