I'm not sure what the question is.

Why is the left different from the right?

    Can you post a pic?

I'm guessing that he wants to replace the wheel studs and although the side of car makes no difference, he just happened to mention it was LHS.

Now if I am correct, to answer the question. To do it properly, yes you do have to do a bit of dismantling.

However, you can cheat and still get a good result. It was many years ago that I did mine so I can't remember exactly what I did, but from memory I ground a flat on the flange part at the rear of the stud.

This then allowed the stud to go through the hole.
    Dave.

I was asked " Is it ignorance or apathy?" I replied "I don't know and I don't care."

yea i made no sence at all sorry,

i busted a stud driving the freeway no idea how its got me beat,
i replaced one wheel stud years ago and could not remember how i did it

and because the drum of the disc brake comes in close to where the wheel stud gose in it jams up on a bad angle

in the end i did also file one side on the angle to slip it in cheers for that

Usually because wheels are put on with Rattle guns at the tyre shop.
The stud is over torqued, then with some heat and stress, they snap.

Get them to use a Torque wrench and watch em like a hawke.

    I do,
