Young are not alone when it comes to making silly errors mate. I fitted a new brake master cylinder and brake booster. I carefully changed it all over, and on the test drive I thought to myself how amazing the brakes were now. About 2km from home all the brakes locked on and the car stopped dead in its tracks. Got out, rotors are as hot as hell. Eventually I tried pulling up on the pedal and it released the brakes.

I eventually worked out there is a plastic spacer between the booster and the firewall that you are supposed to swap from the old to new booster. I didn't do this. After removing it all and doing it again the brakes were fine.

I know how you feel mate, getting ready to go to the high country I installed a dual battery isolator and connected the wires to the battery before the isolator and then dropped a spanner across the pos and neg terminals and destroyed the isolator.

Crap happens sometimes, just don't give up workin on you car because of this set back
