Is your radio up in the dash or down in the console
Hey all, Sorry but this might sound like a very dumb question but how do i know what model LR I have??
It is a 11/93 build, 3 Door, Diesel and has TDI on the back door. I assume from this it is a TDI300 or 200?
The engine plates are not a lot of help and we have a transmission or transfer case issue that i am wanting some info on also.
Thanks in advance,

Try a Land Rover VIN Decoder. (first free result on google, there may be plenty more)
I have just tried three different LR Vin decoders because i was curious. The three that i have used did not say specifics. They just said either 200 or 300 TDI for engine and for gearbox it just said 3,4,5 or 6 speed automatic. They did give the correct body type and door type. Drivers side and make/year.
So you get some information but not everything specificity
EDIT: I stand corrected. This website gave the correct information http://www.vindecoderz.com/ At first it said "Engine: 5.0L V8 / 2.5L diesel" but further down the page under more information it said "2.5L OHV IND INJ TI I4 DIESEL" also with the correct gearbox and drive type.
Thanks for this info guys. The radio is down at the bottom of the dash just in front of the gear stick. I will try those vin decoders.
Cheers
You have a 1994MY 200Tdi.
Your VIN will start with SALLJGBF7LA & the last 6 digits will start with 06 or 07 (at a rough guess).
The gearbox is an LT77 & the transfer case is an LT230 if you're researching any issues.

1993 MY puts it squarely into 200Tdi-territory as the first 300Tdi models didn't appear before 1994. If it doesn't have an automatic transmission, the gear box will be the LT77, with reverse located upper left.
All this applies only if the truck hasn't been modified by a previous owner...

There are people who spend all weekend cleaning the car.
And there are people who drive Discovery.
Wow very clever people on this site. Ok so can some one now tell me what the issues could be with the LT77 gear box/transfer can and how hard it is to remove and either replace and repair.
Thanks in Advance
Johannes
